Auld Lang Syne.

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and a very Merry Christmas, we certainly did! As 2012 comes to a close I look back and smile on all the memories that we have created in just a short period of time. Our son turning 1 and continually reaching all of his milestones, while never ceasing to amaze us. We celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary and feel the greatest passion for one another each day we have on this earth together. We are very lucky to be able to live so close to both our families, with whom we have had wonderful times with, all memorable but some we would like to forget. haha We also have great friends, who are always a blast! Some of them got engaged this past year and we are looking forward to celebrating their special days in the years to come. I also must mention that my New York Giants won the super bowl this past year, but unfortunately, didn't get that opportunity again. But hey, can't win em all. :( Most importantly, everyone in our lives are healthy and for the most part happy. If there is one thing that I have taken away from 2012, it's that the truest happiness lies in the ones that you love the most and anything else in this life is just a bonus.  Much love and peace to you all, Happy New Year!!!

Monsters among us...America's Tragedy :(

 Rest In Peace.....

The event that took place in our country on December 14, 2012 is something that will never be forgotten and I am sure for the families, friends, and community of Newtown, will leave a wound that will never fully heal. As a mother of a tiny boy I can't even fathom what these parents and family members must be going through. Like myself, I am sure most of you are having a tough time trying to wrap your head around this tragedy. With the news and images on all forms of social media it's difficult to get away from it and there are even those instances when I look at my son and begin to think about those poor babies. I think about how scared they must have been and wonder what must have been going through their little minds. Children are supposed to be laughing and living carefree, not dying at the hands of a monster!!
As parents, from the moment our babies are born our natural instinct is to protect and love our children unconditionally. The love you have for this little being is unlike anything ever felt before and I can't help but think of how empty and lost these parents must feel. I am sure most are just hoping this is all a bad dream and soon they will wake up, I know that's what I would be thinking. A piece of their heart has been ripped out from their bodies and part of their soul is missing forever. Whats worse is that that there is absolutely nothing from here to the end of the earth that can take this agony away. Some say time and prayer but I find that very hard to believe.
We all want answers as to why this monster did this and want a solution that will ensure that something like this will NEVER happen again. For those of us who are lucky enough to be given the opportunity to be a mother/ father, if there is anything we can take away from this horror, it must be to never forget to show our children everyday how much we love and need them. Tell them often how special they are, give them tons of affection, let them be who they are, be silly with them, have patience with them, and most of all let them know that because of them, your life is complete and you will never take them for granted..........I love you Brody Layne, forever and eternity <3
